Make A Flick - Dux Jones - (feat. Jab) PDF Print

FSR 52/50 Collection Week#1

The first single of 52/50, “Make A Flick” has all the makings of a hit record; Catchy Chorus, Up Tempo beat and verses that fit the song perfectly.

Produced by The Skouts team leader Thirty, the beat and the chorus feel almost like an old school P Funk record. 2 of the 3 verses are handled by FrontStreet Freshmen Dux Jones and the third by Jab

The song is about talking to a female and letting her know that you are coming through and what you are going to do, which in this case is “Make A Flick.”

I'm a fan of Brutha... I like seeing dreams come true!

I feel like all things happen for a reason and like the world has seasons, so do our lives! I don't know what season I'm in, but I do know that dreams come true... I know that I'm knee deep and there is no turning back, I know that I feel like I deserve more, that I am suppose to have more. Is that greed?

I am Joseph - I dream big, but I have no doubts in my mind that each of those will come true; not for my own personal greed, but to establish a legacy for my  family-those here and those to come...

I know what we at FrontStreet are capable of. Go ahead and I hate, I'll go Foxy on you-DEF!!!

Streetwear - DJ Booth PDF Print

Shout out to Z!!!!

I feel honored and blessed to see FrontStreet Records recording artist Oseeola make it to DJBooth.net... StreetWear is such the perfect record for Oseeola. Fashion is my mans passion, so to see a record come to fruition and begin to gain success of an anthem he wrote for himself is a beautiful feeling.

Sidebar- Artist, write music for yourself first... So many artist get wrapped up in trying to make a "hit"... A song is just one piece of the puzzel... a hit is determined by the work that goes behind the scene just as much (if not more than) as it is determined by the song itself. Granted you have records like Jeezy's "Put On" and Wayne's "Lolli Pop" which were monster hits, but the work is important. And I have a feeling that if you ask those artist mentioned, they wrote those records for themselves to enjoy first and it just so happened that we fell in love with the songs.

Now back to DJ Booth...

It's a Good Look But....... PDF Print

It's a good Look But.....

I'm definitely proud that my team was able to be apart of this mixtape, we all work hard over here at FrontStreet, and to see the most respected website in street culture take notice of our talents and give us the #2 slot on the tape goes to show that they not only like what we do, but love it!

For those of us that have constructed mixtapes, cd's or whatever, you know that you want to catch the consumer right out the gate, so that slot says a lot about the song "Streetwear", Oseeola definitely did his thing on the record which was produced by The Skouts, which is otherwise known as Braulio, Dux Jones, and muah (Thirty;)..... but this is where the problem lies, nobody knows The Skouts produced this great record and to know that this tape will reach thousands of people we definitely felt a lil short changed and the funny thing is it shows production for all the other songs on the CD.....this is just me venting i'm not gonna go any further on it, on another note if you get a chance check the record out and hopefully you keep enjoying what we love to do....peace

R.I.P. MC Breed PDF Print

MCBreed

Last week my homey Breed passed away, His death hit me pretty hard especially being at the club with him the weekend before and talking to him the day before he passed, and then trying to get a hold of him that whole day of his passing, only to find out he was gone.......... We were in talks about his new album that was going to be released on his original label Ichiban, so he seemed in real good spirits, we already had two tracks done for his new album which was "Gotta Get Mine pt.2" and his possible single "Ride Wit Me"........Breed was my first taste of the industry, he was the one that gave me the confidence to know that what i'm producing is running with any producer out here major or independent. Breed always kept a smile on his face, there's not a time where i saw him anything less than happy, his talents were far beyond his success, i learned so much from Breed, sharing the times we did working on music and seeing his genius in the lab, I'll take those experiences with me everywhere and whatever studio i'm working in, a lil bit of Breed will live through me, he will definitely be missed, See ya when I get there homey..........

Posted some videos and unmixed tracks of Breed that we worked on and some of his original classics...b.e.

MC Breed On Life Support; Needs Kidney PDF Print

By Nolan Strong

Flint, Michigan rapper MC Breed is in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital in Atlanta, where he is on life support due to kidney failure, AllHipHop.com has confirmed.

His manager, Darryl Morris, said the rapper, born Eric Breed, was playing a game of pickup basketball yesterday evening (September 5) in Atlanta, when he collapsed and fell unconscious.

“He had to be revived three times,” Morris told AllHipHop.com. “He had to be rushed to the hospital where they diagnosed him and told him his kidney’s have failed.”

Now, MC Breed, 36, is in serious need of a kidney transplant and is seeking a donor to help save his life.

Morris told AllHipHop.com that a number of rappers are being contacted to participate in a benefit concert for the revered rapper, which will take place in his hometown of Michigan.

“We are hoping we can find Breed a kidney through this process, before its too late,” Morris told AllHipHop.com.

MC Breed became a fixture in Hip-Hop after he released his hit single “Aint No Future in Yo Frontin,’” as MC Breed & DFC in 1991, on the independent Atlanta based label, Ichiban Records.

The success of that single led to a meeting with rap legend the D.O.C. around 1992 in Saint Louis and an entrance into West coast’s inner Hip-Hop circle at the time - Suge Knight, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Richie Rich, Yo-Yo, Coolio, The Dogg Pound, Too $hort and others.

Another chance meeting with Tupac Shakur at a Los Angeles tattoo parlor led MC Breed to record the Gold selling hit single “Gotta Get Mines” in 1993.

Throughout the years, MC Breed released material consistently, producing a total of 15 album, mostly on independent labels. He also recorded with a number of rappers, including MC Eiht, Jazze Pha, George Clinton, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Rappin 4Tay, E40, to name a few.

The rapper ran afoul of the law in May of 2006, when he was sentenced to a year in prison for failing to pay almost $200,000 in back child support.

He was rearrested in April 2008, again for failing to pay back child support totaling over $220,000.

MC Breed was preparing to release an album titled Original Breed featuring Too $hort, as well as a DVD about his life titled “Where is MC Breed,” which showcases rare footage, while chronicling his 17-year-journey as an artist.

Recession Music PDF Print

Recession Music

It's 2 in morning and she looks like Vanessa Simmons, sweeeeeeeet!!!
energy, energy, feel the energy!!!

I told her "...Welcome to FrontStreet, where that good shit be made"!!! lol

Where's my inspiration? Check 1, 2...
Yo I see the mask of doubt and uncertainty every where I look. There are waves of hope gone and our chains gleam with fear- those Jesus pieces can't bring us peace?

Plus I know a lot of people and one thing is for sure, things are messed up!

On the flip side, you know what's ill? We're about to live through the Nation's first African American President, Obama's face should go on the $10,000 bill?!?!? But here's the issue, in my opinion we may only began to see this change occur during his second term in office, if he gets re-elected.

The economy is messed up and people are selective with there purchases. How do you sell units (CDs) in a bear market? - Let's throw them back, OUT THE TRUNK!!!

Yeah, we have a great platform and national distribution, but we need face to face communication with our potential fans and some consumer interaction... Look around-you'll see a FSR solider haha, Let's Get It In!!!!
